Dan Clark is the Albany reporter for the New York Law Journal covering state and federal litigation involving the state and the Trump administration. Clark covers a wide variety of litigation that surrounds both national and state topics, such as the 2020 U.S. Census and the National Rifle Association.
Clark also covers state lawmakers and legislation at the state capitol in Albany, NY, where he’s based.
Clark was previously a reporter for the Pulitzer Prize winning organization PolitiFact. Clark was hired as the premier New York reporter for the fact-checking organization when the state edition launched in 2016. PolitiFact partnered with The Buffalo News to publish stories from PolitiFact New York.
Clark also worked as the Video Producer for Capital Tonight, upstate New York’s only nightly political television show. He also wrote for the show's political blog State of Politics.
He specializes in political journalism and research and has published fact-checks on everything from campaign attacks to federal health care reform.
Clark also specializes in video and film production, with a focus on long-form, narrative content. He is currently working on a film surrounding the statewide ban of high volume hydraulic fracturing, or 'fracking', in New York titled "Not One Well."
